Hunting has always been a part of human nature since the dawn of time, and although it is mostly done as sport, a lot of consumers still use it for its initial purpose of providing sustenance. During the peak season, a lot of areas are often saturated with hunters looking for their next game. Although this sport is a necessity to some of the population, a lot of people often have safety concerns with the industry. While hunting many people are concerned with the idea of possibly being shot at while hunting during the season. There are a lot of safety precautions you can take, and you may wonder, are they enough to guarantee ones safe return home. Well the addition of a bulletproof vest can give you more of a safe guard against any potential threats.
Oversaturation during peak season
Hunters are generally only allowed to hunt most game within their designated seasons. During the peak of these seasons a lot of the hunting grounds are saturated with hunters looking to complete their kills for the season. On average in 2016, there were 16.61 million people over the age of 16, participating in hunting over the course of the year. This number has been at a steady rise since its spike in 2011. This increasing population only makes it harder to maintain a safe hunting environment, with the abundance of participants. But imagine, if you were to make the addition of a bulletproof vest than you can increase your chances of a safe and successful hunt.
On average, every year 1,000 people are killed by hunters during the season. In addition, majority of the people killed are hunters. Although this number isn’t as high as other recreational activities, there tends to be an added danger to the community involved. For example, if there is a peak hunting season in a specific area, the whole community may have to be on alert for fear of being mistaken as game. One way to protect yourself in said communities is to invest in an anti-ballistic, so you can have that added protection.
When hunting there are several tips you can follow to further ensure that you have a safe season. The first is the most important, make sure you understand the seriousness of carrying a loaded weapon. When people forget the severity of carrying a loaded weapons they tend to make silly mistakes. The number one cause of hunting accidents is poor judgement, it could be with the firearm or mistaking people for game. For example, on November 24th, 2016, a man was fatally shot by his son during a hunting accident in rural New York. The son made the mistake of shooting his father, under the impression he was game. Either way, remaining completely focus during your hunting expedition could save a life or two. Another cause of hunting accidents, are peoples inability to follow firearm safety rules. There are five main rules when dealing with a firearm while hunting, these include:
1. Keeping the barrel of the gun pointed in a safe direction
2. Treat every firearm with the same respect, loaded or unloaded
3. Ensure you know what is in the front and back of your desired target
4. Remain off the trigger
